UPDATE: Should I press charges against my mom for letting her friends sexually assault me?

t_h_r_o_w_a_w_a_y_67 ci racconta la sua esperienza amorosa:

For those of you that didn’t read my story here’s a link: https://www.reddit.com/r/relationship_advice/comments/goczm3/should_i_press_charges_against_my_mom_for_letting/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

First of all, I just want to thank all of you people for supporting me through this experience. It’s truly made my day looking through the comments just to see how I’m not the only one that going through this. I can’t thank all of you enough.

My dad told me earlier that now is the time to make the decision since he’s on the phone with the lawyer. I decided to press charges on all three of them. We’re expected to go to court on Monday or Tuesday. I’ll post another update after court. Thanks for reading.

There’s a one-update rule. Please edit any updates into this thread.

I know she is your mother, and you love her, but she is supposed to PROTECT you! What happened was completely inappropriate! There is no excuse for your mother putting you in that situation, and not retiring for the evening as soon as things started getting pear-shaped.

A child is biologically programmed to protect their parents somehow, almost no matter what the parent do to them. But she needs to take responsibility for what she did.

If she is supposed to have any hope of redeeming herself, she should face the consequences of her actions and take that as a learning lesson! She did not act as a mother to you. You were a source of entertainment to them, and they behaved completely inappropriately towards you. Not to mention posting it on social media afterwards!

If any one of them starts going on about how you’re making life difficult for them, or start getting angry with you for pressing charges, then you should definitively do it! That would only cement how shit people they are! (Sorry, I just get so mad reading about what they did to you!)

I’m so sorry this happened, but I’m proud of you for pressing charges.

I’m so proud of you Op.

Also your father, your friends and everyone that checked on you are amazing. You are surrounded by great people.

I know you can feel guilty, because maybe it wasn’t that big of a deal, or nothing extreme happened. But this is one of those situations that you want to stop before it gets worse.

Your mom should know better, she could’ve taken half an hour to take you home and maybe go back to her celebration. Ask someone to give you a ride when it was still early, she failed to care for you and to protect you.

I strongly suggest therapy, you want to deal with this whole situation in the best way possible.

Stay strong brother, you’re doing the right thing. I suggest you seek therapy, it will help if you have someone to talk to about this.
