Because they performed studies where they survey dentists and say “name any toothpaste you would recommend”, 90% of those dentists list “brand” as one of the ones they would recommend. It’s worth noting that 90% also recommend a bunch of other brands.
They generally say, “would you recommend brand a, b, c, and/or d?” And most dentists say, “yes, those are all fine”
