Engineers on Internet, what is it you actually do, and how is a day on the job for you?

I’m an electrical engineer and most of my day is staring at a computer. But I generally like it.

paperwork, people, and research. mostly in that order. my job revolves around stapling new solutions to old technology, so it’s more logistics than cutting edge innovation. understanding what they did decades ago and translating that forward to the current tech and mostly economics.
