Here is an idea – A presidential/ prime minister debate that is fact checked for every statement and you are only allowed a certain number of lies. If you run out, you cannot comment anymore and lose all your allotted time. How long will candidates in your country last ?

The politicians would just become even more vague. They already dont even provide workable answers, just platitudes and sound bites which cant really be shown to be wholly right or wrong

Its been tried but it doesnt work well. You can manipulate wording, imply things, lie by ommission, or misinterpret purposely or unpurposly.

The debates would just be cancelled. There would probably be a Twitter war of some kind to replace it

Literally wouldn’t last a minute. One paragraph and they’d hit their limit.
