What is the best example of ‘The Road to Hell is Paved with Good Intentions.” You have ever experienced?

Pizza-Gate. People were so afraid that a pizza place was being used by cannibalistic satan worshipping Democrat lizard people as a place to have sex with ( and then eat?)kids that a dude drove 500 miles to free the tots. He wound up shooting some people and was then shown that ( much like the Alamo) there was no basement. This silly but good intentioned conspiracy is now QAnon.

these are the questions that deserve more upvotes but never make it

>> A common meaning of the phrase is that individuals may have the intention to undertake good actions but nevertheless fail to take action. This inaction may be due to procrastination, laziness or other subversive vice. As such, the saying is an admonishment that a good intention is meaningless unless followed through.

If I’ve become overwhelmed with anxiety or depression, it can be very hard for me to take the necessary action that I need in order to change my life. This is a very thought provoking question and I might keep this quote up to remind me to make the best of each day.

The closest thing is in working as a programmer, when the “KPI metrics” stuff starts. You hear about “measuring performance”, “estimating workload to see how we perform against targets”, various “procedures” that make the whole thing more buraucratic and are supposed to organize things, “agile” and “continous delivery”, what you’ll end up with is something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BKorP55Aqvg&ab_channel=LaurisBeinerts

I have a family of deeply religious lunatics. Their conservative values and voting habits but then in the ass regularly. But the immediate collateral damage is obnoxious piety, dumb nieces (because girls don’t need to focus on education but getting a man by being pretty), they have abysmal shame with stellar pride that creates strange twisted behaviors, and they’re probably the most wretchedly hateful people I’ve encountered.

They just say stupid, unfounded, shit founded in their views of nationalism and racism (which they mistake for a cultural superiority). “Mexicans/Hispanics have sex with little girls to awaken their sexuality.” “It would be awful to have a mixed bag because it wouldn’t know where it belonged.” Random, disparaging views of interracial couples. Disgustingly immature emotional outbursts when they don’t get their way.

Simpler put: my family is a bunch of Super Karens and Kyles.

I’m the black sheep of the family because I live by the Golden Rule. Just a few days ago my Mom accused me of being gay because I defended gay people.

There so disconnected from reality that when I can show that they are wrong and full of shit and ruining their lives and relationships that they just don’t listen. Any criticism is ignored or reflected or red herring’ed.

I’m just sad my nieces are going to be lost to the worst of it and my nephews will surely be corrupted my brother-in-law’s views of masculinity.
