[Game].exe has stopped working
Before you could save/autosave. Especially after completing a really hard mission or achieving something.
Back in the early 80s, I was living in Portland (OR) and there was a game called “Polybius” that showed up in an arcade that I frequented.
The game itself didn’t seem to be anything special, but it gave me the worst nightmares you can imagine. Most of the dreams were lucid. A friend of mine completely lost his mind after playing it and I never saw him again.
Every once in awhile some men in dark suits would show up and inspect the game’s inner workings.
One day it wasn’t there anymore.
