I’m not sure about protest but in warfare throught history shit has certainly been flung or utilised in other ways, sometimes they would fill castle moats with it in order to dissuade anyone from attempting to swim it, and dead animals and shit have been flung over walls to try and spread diseases inside. People have also historically burned it for fuel of for warmth
Biff Tannen ran into a manure truck twice. He hates manure. It was probably terrifying to him.
Apparently, people used to wipe shit onto spears and when thrown, it would cause an infection and kill victims even if the would healed
Just last month, Extinction Rebellion, a climate change activists’ group, protested Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp and their perceived mischaracterization and/or lack of coverage of climate change-related news by dumping a couple tons of cow manure and topping it with a sign that read “Quit the bullshit” outside the entrances to their headquarters in Sydney.
In 2014, 20 tons of horse manure were dumped in front of the French National Assembly by a disgruntled horse riding school owner. It’s actually pretty common here when farmers are protesting.
