What would you do if you had an extra $20,000 in your bank account right now?

Ed ecco le risposte:

Have a good night’s sleep

Leave it there. I know how this story goes.

Our central gas heating is stupidly inefficient and expensive to run. We freeze in winter.

I would get split systems in each main room or the house. I already had a quote, $13,000AUD (I live in a townhouse, the fuse box is awkwardly located). I would put the remaining 7k on solar panels.

Fucking breathe.

Cry. I need a miracle

Index funds. It would pay for. Couple years of retirement in the far distant future.

Quit my job and focus in my 2 year nursing internship. Working full time and studying is a tremendous effort, I don’t know if I’m going to make it alive.

Pay off credit cards. We do that every month, anyway, but no point in waiting for payday.

Might plan a week-long vacation.

Not get evicted

Pay off my car 🚗. Invest the rest.

Put it all on red

Still be broke. But I’d get the a/c fixed. It’s 87 degrees INSIDE

Pay my car off and take the wife out to a fancy dinner at Wendys.

Go visit the gem and mineral show in Denver.

Then go to the one in Tucson next year.

Pay everything to a zero balance, start a savings account, and buy an inexpensive vehicle.

I’d look into cocaine

Pay off student loans and then get the tests done that my doctor keeps reminding me about.

Finally breathe. Just take a day off for a trip to the planetarium (I’ve always wanted to take my son!), which would be roughly $200-400 depending on entrance prices and food and travel.

Then sit on the rest and provide a better quality of living for a few years, hopefully get me over this hump.

Edit: that is a ~3 hour drive, snacks and food for the day; I do not know entrance fees so that, and whatever else comes up. I live in Canada, so take into account my prices are likely much higher than others will see. Leaving my house for an afternoon somehow costs $100 to do nothing these days.

Pay all my debts, and finally get rid of all this stress. Use the rest for a vacation.

Put in a decent fence around my backyard so that my dogs can run free without my worrying about them going into the street.
