Consiglio: Can’t focus? Play music from a video game soundtrack. It’s designed to keep you engaged and helps you focus on what you’re working on.

Consiglio del giorno che ti può essere utile:

The music in video games is specifically designed to motivate players while staying in the background. It sets the mood and the tone of the game, keeps up a good rhythm, but never distracts from the game’s objectives. It fosters a sense of achievement while motivating players to reach the next level and keep moving forward.

It's a whole genre designed to simultaneously stimulate your senses and blend into the background of your brain, because that's the point of the soundtrack. It has to engage you, the player, in a task without distracting from it. In fact, the best music would actually direct the listener to the task.

There's also very rarely any lyrics. When you're doing a task and simultaneously listening to music with lyrics it lowers your ability to work as well because your brain is also interpreting the music, so video game soundtracks are perfect for concentrating.

You can make two playlists: one with calm, flowing music – the sort that plays when a player is travelling in a game – to keep pressure even and reduce stress, and one with high-intensity battle music, which is good for very close deadlines, because it's designed to make you feel a little desperate yet empowered and badass.

For those who don't know where to start, I would suggest soundtracks from these games: Halo, Assassin's Creed, The Sims (surprisingly works very well), Animal Crossing, Battlefield 2, Skyrim and Paper Mario. This site has a large collection of soundtracks that you can listen too as well.

Go out and conquer, gamers! 🙂
