There was an episode of Impractical Jokers where Sal was the loser and his punishment was that he had to piss his pants while in a locked escape room. I would guess that the employees were in on it, but the other people in the escape room definitely weren’t.
Best escape room story I ever heard was someone flying home for Thanksgiving while his sister had persuaded their parents to try out an escape room together. They arranged it with the staff so he was waiting for them in the second room.
