Ghosting. Why do people feel like it’s OK to leave the other person in a never-ending state of not knowing instead of just being direct with them?

My time on this Earth is limited and growing shorter by the second. If someone has pissed me off enough that I’m cutting then it if my life, I’m not going to waste even a second more on them.

It is situationally dependant, what if the person did something horrible, do they still deserve to be responded to?

I only ghosted an ex-girlfriend once, but in all honesty she did punch me in the face…

her parents kept inviting themselves on are dates and i got sick of it and told her to get them to back off because i couldn’t deal with that kind of thing… and it wasnt just one instance, movies, dinners out, drives to the beach and camping trips… she just couldnt tell her mom or dad no and when i tried to she argued that “there my parents” so not only was i dating her but i was also dating her mom and dad to… apparently, and i was the asshole in the situation according to everyone involved.

so i broke up with her, she punched me in the face and then phoned me and said i had one more chance… i ghosted the fuck out of her and blocked her number…

so it happens, but i get why your asking… some people are very “hit it and quit it” and just ghost you and others have experiences like this one

Honestly I end up ghosting people when they bother me too much and I don’t know what I should say to make them stop, or because I don’t want to replay when I see the message and then I forgot to. I might be an asshole but it’s just an easy way to cut off people either without hurting them too much.

For me personally, I get real bad anxiety and just cannot deal with the confrontation. I’ve only done it once though, and I’ve always felt extremely guilty about it.
