Many people dislike the sound of their own voice in recordings, why is that?

when I hear a recording of me it either sounds like a robot or small kid or older than I am

I sound like I’m on the opposite of helium (very deep voice)

Part of speech is that you hear yourself talking. One of the reason older people tend to talk louder, is with decreased hearing they need to speak louder to hear themselves. Your head is basically like your shower, the sound echoes in your own head and is alter. Atypically what you hear is “deeper” or has increased bass compared to what the rest of the world hears. So your perception of your voice is different than what the rest of reality experiences. So when recorded you hear you “real” voice and it differs than what you know know to be your voice.

You sound different in your own ears than in recordings

The reason you hear your voice differently on recordings is because you hear it in different ways. The way you hear it while speaking is vibrations through your skull, not via your ears. But on recordings, you hear your voice via your ears.
