I refuse to wear it when I’m home by myself. I wear it in public all the time though.
I haven’t met a single person who has COVID. Therefore it doesn’t exist. Also my logical skills haven’t evolved past a 5 year old’s
Okay big disclaimer at the beginning: I absolutely believe in the virus and think we should take precautions. But sometimes these precautions don’t make any fucking sense and then it’s just annoying. So to explain this: I live in Germany and go to school here. Some weekdays I’m in school from 8am to 6pm and have classes constantly. Everyday at least till 4 pm and we have a partial mask policy. We have to wear them in class and outside while we have breaks. That makes sense to me and if it would be so consequent, even if it makes it really hard to focus for such a long time, I would never even get the idea to say anything about the mandatory masks. I still wear them but now here’s why it makes me go crazy: we can take them of in sports, we aren’t distanced in class and for eating and drinking we can take them of right next to everybody else. In the beginning we also didn’t need to wear them in class (without distancing). Then one of our teachers got sick. The following actions were what made most of us basically lose hope. It showed that they don’t actually even try to really protect us. After the message spread that mr. R has a positive test of course some people got send home. But not all of them. Only the students who had him within the week. Only those were send home and quarantined for two weeks. They had siblings who were still allowed to go to school, we had class with him 6 days before without masks and one student claimed (with witnesses) that he had a personal conversation with him on school property and he was told that this does not qualify as a „class A contact“. Somehow it was still contained again. Some students a few years below us got it thou. In Germany there have been again for the past to days more than 11000 new infections in less than 24 hours and shit like this is the reason why. They claim most people get infected in their private surroundings but that’s completely stupid. We keep the masks on but at this point we have lost hope in any of their measures. We don’t believe we‘re safe and to keep going to school we all stoped to even visit our grandparents. So I so wear my mask especially in places like public transportation but after reading this I had to say this. We don’t feel safe! I‘m so tired of all of this and we can’t keep going on. It feels like a charade we have to do so our school can claim they did everything they could and it’s not their fault when their staff starts dying.
I wear a mask but as a woman at that age, perimenopause, breathing your own breath back onto your face does get stifling and can make me feel nauseous after while.
