I think it’s lack of hitting that deep sleep cycle. I just started using a CPAP machine that helps my sleep apnea, and I am remembering dreams much more now than I used to, when my sleep was interrupted by my sleep apnea.

You’re not being woken up prematurely so you spend some time between REM sleep (dreaming) and wakefulness, during which time you forget your dreams.

Apparentlly, smoking weed makes it less likely that you will remember your dreams. You still dream, you just won’t remember it.

In my experience, this does hold true. I typically smoke weed before bed (helps me fall asleep), and I generally remember my dreams more frequently when I don’t do that.

Poor diet and health (mental and physical)

Sleep apnea is nearly non existent and when I began to care about myself again. Apparently your tongue can get fat.

I decided to get help when I realized that I was no longer able to “wing” life anymore. Couldn’t focus at work, I stopped reading, couldn’t get past the tutorials in games without getting bored, always wanted to stay home. Turns out it isn’t normal for these things to be that hard.
