What podcasts should we all listen to?

If you want a (currently) short comedy podcast with an absurd premise I recommend Til Death Do Us Blart. The premise is as follows:

“The creators of My Brother, My Brother and Me and The Worst Idea of All Time review the film Paul Blart Mall Cop 2 every American Thanksgiving from now until the end of linear time.”

They are on year 5 right now with a new one coming out in a month so you have time to catch up to the Blartty goodness!

PAST GAS PODCAST, ITS A SHOW ABOUT CARS ITS NOT ABOUT FARTS

I’ve kind of gotten into “You’re wrong about” lately. They do deep dives into events, cases, or social things that people misremember or don’t really know much about. Some examples are the OJ Simpson trials, the DC Snipers, the Stonewall Uprising, the murder of Kitty Genovese…or broader societal issues like obesity, homelessness, sex offenders, murder, etc. I don’t think it posits things that everyone would or should agree with, but I think the alternative perspectives, at the very least, are well-researched and certainly refreshing to hear.

All the President’s Lawyers is another good one. Puts current events in the focus and explains the legal issues around…everything, really, with Donald Trump. Why certain things are important, what they mean, and what the implications are. I think regardless of who you support, it’s a really relevant and important sort of thing to learn about. Trump does have legitimate legal problems and has been involved in various scandals- these are just facts. Understanding them and their context is something anyone with strong opinions in either direction should do.

Off Menu with Ed Gamble and James Acaster is a great podcast if you like food, I think the Greg Davies and Scroobius Pip episodes may be my favourites but really they’re all good and they have a huge range of celebrity guests from different backgrounds and industries.
