But I think what happened is that sober Ross said no to the copy girl, and she kept pushing until he was drunk and said yes. He didn't have a choice in the matter. New York law did not define such situations in rape at the time the show came out, but in other jurisdictions in the modern day, what happened to Ross is legally considered rape.
