Oh sure, people watching is pretty common I think. It’s not so different than visiting the zoo. We’re animals after all, and it’s fascinating sometimes to see what we do.
In America it’s considered rude. If you get caught looking at someone you have to look away immediately. But in many countries people will just straight up stare at you, and it’s considered normal.
People watching its a thing , use to do it as a teen , me and a mate would sit on a brick wall and watch every one go past
I do this with my girlfriend all the time (well, not lately…) and I make up stories about the people we’re watching. Once I get a “real” laugh out of her, I stop and we just watch for a little while longer. [NOTE: the stories are never mean/insulting.]
It’s pretty interesting.
Of course, it’s called people watching.
