Come on, even in my third world destroyed and burned to ashes country internet is a utility
I recall reading a story here about a town in N.C. Or S.C. that none of the large companies would would provide internet for. It was too small and not enough money.
So the town allocated funds and ran their own fiber and created a “utility” for the people.
It went on to be battled in court by the big telecoms over stupid reasons, lost, appealed, and then won a compromise. Like they could service what was already ran, but couldn’t do more or something. I don’t recall all the details as you can see but it sure was a slap in the face to the township.
Vote old crusty conservative technophobes out of office.
